Photo Tales: STARS AND LADYBUGS

Solstice

Stars and Ladybugs

By Kevin O’Conner

She wears a masque
that does little to hide her light
a constellation of dreams
radiating through her skin

She walks among us
always in a state of grace
not one strand out of place

down towards the water

Look now, she smiles upon us
as the parade passes by

down towards the water

Yesterdays don’t matter now
bitterness melts quickly away

Union of the sun and moon
gives us a golden ring in the sheltering sky

she puts it on as she walks by
